I love keeping a little notebook in my project bag or purse for jotting down notes or doing a quick sketch if inspiration strikes. Sometimes when I get a good idea, if I don’t get it out of my head and onto paper, it will either completely disappear or take up too much space in my brain and I won’t be able to think of anything else.
So, I knew I wanted to design a little booklet, and I knew I wanted it to do more than just be a regular sketchbook. That's where the inside cover comes in! I can't even count the number of times I've been traveling or knitting in the car, only to realize I don't have a tape measure, so one of the first things I put on the inside cover is a ruler. The other thing I tend to look up when I'm knitting from a pattern is needle size conversions, so for the back inside cover I included a couple little reference charts for needle sizes, yarn weights, and common abbreviations (I only had a 4 x 6" space, and I packed it in)!
And of course I wanted that nature connection in the design. You know I like the earthy, rustic quality of kraft paper, so that was a given. I went with three different cover designs, my favorite being the yarn flower, which is a riff on my logo.
They're such nice, compact, solid little books and I'm so happy with the way they came out!
